Ruthann Marcle Ellis' Obituary
Ruthann Marcle Ellis was born May 3, 1924 in Waldron, Michigan to Hubert and Kathryn Kortier.
She graduated in secretarial studies from Cleary College in 1942 and with a B.S. degree in special education from Eastern Michigan in 1948.
During World War II, Ruthann corresponded with a sailor for two and half years before meeting him, who became her husband. Raymond Ellis and Ruthann were married December 26, 1948 and have resided in St. Clair, Michigan for over 55 years. Ruthann participated in several community organizations, was a contingent member of the First United Methodist Church, possessed a deep love of handicrafts, music and books. Ruthann touched people’s lives with her good nature and sense of humor.
She is survived by her husband Raymond Ellis, and six children and their spouses: Terry & Tonja ,Freeland, MI, Robert & Patricia of Shelby Twp., Kathy of Atlanta, GA, Linda & Thomas of St. Clair, Andrew & Natalie of Cass City, MI, and Susan of Macon, GA and 10 grandchildren . Her grandchildren will serve as pall bearers.
Visitation from the L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home Friday from 2– 9 PM and Saturday from 9-11 AM. In State Saturday at the First United Methodist Church from 12 Noon till service at 1 PM. Burial in Hillside Cemetery. Memorials in Ruthann’s name may be made to the church
