Karen Ann Borwick, age 68 of St. Clair died Friday June 20, 2014. Karen was born
March 2, 1946 in Detroit to the late Louis And Ruth Candea. Karen married Crawford Borwick. “Mrs B” taught Kindergarten at St. Mary’s for many years. Karen was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, nana, teacher, and friend. Her life was filled with laughter and great memories with those that she loved. “Mrs. B” had a passion to teach and she touched the lives of many kindergartners at St. Mary’s. Her family was her entire world and she lived a life that always put others first. If she was not with her family she was found spending time with friends shopping or at the local garage sales. Her and her husband enjoyed traveling and providing a home for her children and grandchildren to remember always. She was a true fighter until the very end and her strength and courage will always be remembered and admired.
Karen is survived by her husband Crawford Borwick, her daughters, Amy (Joe) Axsom and Becky Borwick, grandchildren Noah and Jenna Johnson, her siblings Rick Candea, Barbara (Wayne) Kuntz, Nancy (Ron) Kotecki, Don Candea and Jeff (Joan) Candea, She was a favorite Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Karen was also preceded in death by her step-mother Simone Candea and step-father George Handwerk
Visitation in the L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home Tuesday 6-8 PM and Wednesday 1-4 and 6-8 PM. In state Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church from 10 AM till mass at 10:30 AM. Memorials in Karen's name may be made to the friends of St. Mary's ,C/O The Community Foundation of St. Clair County, to be used for a kindergarten scholarship at St. Mary's. Arrangements by L.C.
