Crawford, Rick, Barbara, Nancy, Donny and Jeff. I am so sadden by the loss of Karen. My memories of her always bring a smile to me. Our childhood, mostly with Bubba, Nancy and Karen are something I remember and Always cherish. I will never forget my favorite part of christmas eve: throwing aunt karens sparkly reindeer food out on the sidewalk and feeling the magic of Christmas. Aunt karen was always one of my favorite people to see because she was always so pleasant, the type of person who would make you feel special and right at home.

The sand table, gingerbread houses, turkey dinners, graduation cakes and making us all feel like winners on field day, despite ribbon color...and the list goes on. They say that all we ever need to know we learned in kindergarden. So true, especially coming from the room "at the end of the hall on the right". You were the epitomy of teaching from the heart rather than the book. Thank you for the gift of knowing you.

My most recent fun memory of my Aunt Karen was in March 2012 in Gulf Shores, AL. It was Karens b'day & we couldn't get to the restaurant she had picked. We saw it over & over again as we kept driving by it. Jim threatened to turn into The Waffle House at any minute. We never made it to Cobalts that nite & had so many laughs about it. It will now have a very special meaning to me when I return.
There were also such great times up north at the lake with Jim, Karen, Amy & Becky. The trips to the local bakery for various pastries & raspberry pie & then to The Sweet Shoppe for that infamous fudge! Karen would always say afterwards, "you can't get this in heaven". We'll, I truly truly hope you can. You deserve it all. My heart breaks as I am already missing you. Know that you will never be forgotten & may peace be eternally with you now.

We will miss her very much. No body relaxed during the summer at the pond like she did. Remember all the canoe trips, forever ago now. We will try to take care of Jim the best we can. The Borwick family is in my prayers.

Karen was a mentor, colleuge, and friend. She had dedication, compassion and was truly blessed with the gift of teaching. Karen touched the lives of so many children and their families with her ability to love all whom crossed her path. I am very fortunate to have been a part of her journey.

Will never forget her coaxing Lance out from under tables because Santa was there at school. Also...her giving in to Max's obsession with the only yellow chair in class. She finally gave in...Max needed his comfort zone to learn...and "learning" really was more important than a chair. Beautiful teacher...beautiful woman...she touched so many! Becky and Amy be proud...very proud!
