Sweet Connie, We were friends from the day we met in Junior High. We made matching dresses in school...material had butterflies all over them. We had many over-nights that year and I learned sign language from her, (and Judy also). My life has never been the same since meeting Connie and Judy. I, like Connie, am 67 years old and I STILL interpret for the Deaf. I fell in love with not just their beautiful language, BUT WITH DEAF PEOPLE because of Connie and Judy. We haven't seen each other much over the years. We tried Skype but she just could not see well enough to follow my hands. When we visited the area, she would come to whatever Church I was in and I would interpret for her and Jim. She always loved me. And I always loved her. I am so very grateful that God put Connie in my life! She was such a HAPPY person amid all her challenges. I can still hear her giggle in my memory. Her whole face "lit up" when she smiled. I was blessed to have her in my life! Blessed to call her my friend.
[Special HUGS to Jim and her mom, Betty.]
