Vincenta Pukey (Yeak)'s Obituary
Vivian’s life journey ended and her eternal life began on February 2, 2010. She died with her husband and family by her side in Henry Ford Macomb Hospital.
She was born on June 2, 1925, in Detroit, the daughter of Joseph and Magdelena
(Gryszkiewicz) Kunicki. Vivian received her nursing degree from St. Clair County Community College. Her nursing career was spent at St. Joseph Hospital where her joyful and caring disposition was infectious to her patients as she would often sing to them to cheer them up and ease their pain.
She married Johnny Pukey in 1990 and within the year retired. They both loved dancing and spent summer weekends going to Polka festivals. She loved to travel around the world with her family. Her other interests included playing the accordion and organ, crossword puzzles, scrabble, reading, bingo and daily socializing with her friends at McDonalds. Vivian was deeply religious and a devout Catholic. She attended mass regularly at St. Donald’s Parish.
She is survived by her husband Johnny, sister, Valentina Kielbasa, daughter Laurie Kuschel, and son Larry Yaek, step-daughter Pam (Richard) Lobstein. 3 grand daughters, 2 step-grandsons, and several great grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brother, William Kisielewicz and Stanley Kunicki, sister, Anna Herpel and son-in-law Bernie Kuschel.
Visitation Sunday from 2-6 PM in the L.C.Friederichs & Son Funeral Home, St. Clair,
with Rosary at 5PM. In state Monday at St. Phillip Neri Church, Columbus, Michigan from 9:30 AM till mass at 10 AM. Burial in St. Phillip Cemetery, memorials to American Heart Association
