Dear Debbie and Kathy, Judy, Joanne and Jim,
Your mom was a delight to know, and I shall always treasure the many special memories of her as our Camp Fire Girl leader for over ten years. She set a wonderful example! From her recipe for 'pocket stew' over the campfire, french toast cooked on top of a can. to her homemade cinnamon rolls, and the large homemade cookies she let us 'decorate' - I have nothing but admiration for all that she accomplished! I remember how she routinely and expertly directed the church kitchen for the successful Harvest Home Dinners. She always exuded a wonderful smile, and had an upbeat spring in her step!
It was a joy and privilege to have her in my life, and I will smile with many fond memories in my heart - no doubt she is a shining star looking down upon all of you. Please know that thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I am very sorry for the passing of sweet Velda, I'm very sad that I won't see that beautiful smile or hear that wonderful laugh but if ever there was somebody that lived a long and full life it was Velda and she so deserves to go to her sweet reward. I spent quite a few years with her every Sunday at church and we had such fun at the rummage sales, and going to the Tigers games. You will be missed dear friend.

So sorry to hear about sweet Velda. I have known her all my life and we shared the same birthday. We also sat in the pew in front of her at church for many, many years. She also made our kids special Halloween goodie bags every year. She will be sadly missed.

So very sad hearing of Velda's passing but knowing she has earned her angle wings is such a blessing. We will miss that wonderful smile and warmth of her love of all.
