Theodore "Ted" Hopko's Obituary
Theodore “Ted” Hopko Jr., age 62, of St. Clair, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2009 at his home surrounded by family. He was born September 19, 1946 in Detroit to the late Theodore Sr. and Mary Hopko.
Ted married Kathryn Ngiala on June 11, 1966 in East Detroit. Ted and Katie were married for 43 wonderful years. Ted was a long-time engineer in the Detroit area and was also a member of the St. Clair River County Club. Ted was an avid golfer and was known as a quiet man who held family and friends close to his heart. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Mr. Hopko is survived by his wife; Katie. Sons; Theodore (Meg) Hopko Jr. and Nicholas (Christine) Hopko. Grandchildren; Haley, Alexandra, and Nicholas Jr.. Sister; Patrisia Leedle. Sister-in-laws; Sandra and Elizabeth Ngiala. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and close friends.
Preceded in death by his sister, Estelle Marko.
Visitation will be held at the L.C. Friederichs and Son Funeral Home, St. Clair on Saturday from 6-9pm and Sunday from 2-5 and 6-9pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Twp. Additional visitation will be 9:30-10am at the church on Monday. Memorials are suggested to Blue Water Hospice.
