Theodore N Hopps' Obituary
Theodore N. Hopps age 96, of St.Clair died January 28,2009.
Mr. Hopps was born and grew up in Port Huron where he graduated from St. Clair County Community College. He worked for Detroit Edison Co. for most of his life, retiring in 1977 as a supervisor at the St. Clair Power Plant. As a young man Ted was an avid baseball player. He was a pheasant hunter, railroad enthusiast and gardener. He served on the School Board of the City of St. Clair and as the president of the St. Clair County Intermediate School Board. For many years Ted worked as a 4-H leader of horse projects and was a longtime member of the St. Clair County Fair Board. He enjoyed spending time at his cottage at Long Lake, MI.
Ted is survived by: Daughters Linda M. Anderson of Danville, N.H. and Susan Herrick of Rochester Hills, MI. and her husband Roderick Herrick. Also grandsons Theodore M. Herrick of Rochester Hills and his wife, Holly, and Timothy M. Herrick of Reno, NV. Also by great-grandchildren Thomas, Samantha, Hunter and Joseph Herrick.
Mr. Hopps’ greatest joy was his wife, Dorothy, of sixty-seven years, who died a year ago and the other members of his family. He will be greatly missed. His friends and family celebrate his long life.
Visitation Monday in the L.C.Friederichs & Son Funeral Home St. Clair from 4-8 PM. In state Tuesday from 9:30 AM till service at 10 AM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, St. Clair. memorials in Ted''s name may be made to Prostrate Cancer research
