Sarah Louise Runyan's Obituary
Sarah Louise “Sally” Runyan age 94 of St. Clair, died Sunday September 10, 2006. She was born September 23, 1911 in Paris Crossing Indiana to the late Homer & Eunice McGannon. Sally married
D. B. “Ike” Herzer on January 16,1937 and he died in 1962. She married Cecil A. Runyan and he preceded her in death in 1974. Sally was a former director of the Southeastern Michigan Gas Co. Her memberships include the DAR the St. Clair Garden Club, St. Clair Golf Club, Psi Ioata Xi Sorority
and the First United Methodist Church of St. Clair. She supported many local organizations including
the St. Clair Art Association, St. Clair Music Study Club and the St. Clair Theater Guild.
Sally is survived by her son Karl (Stella) Herzer, her daughter-in-law, Ina Herzer, sister-in-law Marion “Billie” McGannon, Grandchildren Sheila Clouse, Brant (Amanda) Herzer, Judson Herzer, Jason (Shelly) Carpenter, Jarod, Justin Carpenter. Great gandchildren, Andrew Clouse, Marissa, Emma & Avery Carpenter, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husbands she was preceded in death by a daughter Sheila K. Herzer, son D. Kent Herzer, her bother Stan McGannon, sisters Crystal (Leland) Lurton, Marjorie (Bob) LeGrand, Martha (Jim) Wolf and Claire (Ed) Morris; and family members Manzella (Frank) Yarde, Jim (Barbara) Herzer and Jane Hauver.
Cremation has taken place, a memorial service will be held , Saturday, September 16 at 11 AM from the First United Methodist Church , St. Clair. Memorials in Sally’s name may be directed to
