Robert B. Coulter's Obituary
Robert B. Coulter, age 92, went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2022. He was born on June 13, 1930 to the late Robert and Martha Coulter. Robert was raised on Harsens Island- St. Clair Flats-. He was a graduate of Algonac High School class of 1948. Following high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. After being discharged from the Army, Robert married Rosemarie Rivard on February 13, 1960, who preceded him in death in 2004. He went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree from U of D in 1968. Robert worked in advertising for his whole life, working for various companies during those years. Following Rosemarie’s passing, Robert moved down to Florida which became his new home. He was an avid boater. Early in life, he thoroughly enjoyed sail boating, and would sail in the Mackinac Races. He loved his sports cars; Robert owned several sports cars throughout his life and enjoyed driving them around. Robert, aka, (Commadore Muschrat), was an avid reader and wrote 2 books; Boy on the Flats, and Bradley Barnes Doing it His Way. He also enjoyed collecting art as well as windjammer cruises. Robert was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Anna Marie Island, FL. He was a part of multiple organizations including, Harsens Island Historical Society, and the Detroit Yacht Club. He was an active volunteer at the St. Clair Museum, Huron Ship Museum, and the Florida Maritime Museum in Cortez. Robert also is past Commadore for the Otsi Keta Boat Club.
