Robert Leigh Cooper's Obituary
Robert Leigh Cooper, age 88 of East China, died Wednesday, October. 22, 2014 after a brief illness. Bob was born February 5, 1926 in St. Clair, to the late Edwin Blaine Cooper and Florence Mae (Boyle) Cooper.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Dorothy M. (Flaxington) Cooper, daughter Linda Cooper (Gary) VanderHaagen, son William J. cooper and Grandson Jordan A. Cooper.
Bob and Dorothy were grade school sweethearts, graduating from Marine City High
in 1943. Bob served honorably in the U.S. Navy during WW II aboard the battleship, USS Iowa. He worked as a tool and die maker ending his career owning and operating Victory Mold & Engineering in Marysville with his son Bill . Bob and Dorothy enjoyed many years of RV-ing through the 48 , Alaska and Canada, His other hobbies included gardening and model boat building. His quiet, gentle, supportive presence will be missed by those who loved him.
In addition to his parents Bob was also preceded in death by his infant brother Billy, sister Jean Cooper Tysse and brother Blaine E. Cooper.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
