Richard O. Johnson's Obituary
Richard O. Johnson age 77 of St. Clair died Saturday, July 12, 2008.
He was born November 9, 1930 in royal Oak to the late Roy and Molly Johnson.
Dick married Melvina Keener on February 18, 1956. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and retired from the Diamond Crystal Salt Co. where he was director of Purchasing. He was a former St. Clair City councilman and CRC member, He served on the Library Board, the Cemetery Board, the St. Clair Hospital Board, and was a member and former chairman of the River District Hospital Board. He was a member of the First Congregational Church, St. Clair
Dick is survived by his wife Melvina, sons Richard O. (Cathy) Johnson II, Douglas R. (Diane) Johnson, Kathryn K. Johnson and Sue (Randy) Verbeke. Grand children Matthew and Casey Verbeke, Kimberly, Jeffrey, Laurie, Jennifer and Shannon Johnson and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a brother Roy Johnson.
Visitation Monday 2-5 and 7-9 PM in the L. C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home.
In state Tuesday at the First Congregational Church, St. Clair from 10 AM till service at 11 AM. Burial in Hillside Cemetery. Memorials to the church
