Richard K. Barry's Obituary
Richard K Barry, age 70, of St. Clair, died Sunday May 5 following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Dick was born Aug 6, 1931 in Port Huron. He graduated from St. Stephen’s High School in 1949. A former Air Force officer, he retired from active duty in 1971, having served 20 years as a fighter pilot, Atlas missile crew commander and flying more than 135 B-52 combat missions during the Viet Nam conflict. Following military service, he was employed as Personnel Manager at Diamond Crystal Salt Company for 20 years. He was an avid cyclist and a member of the Slow Spokes bicycle club, a member of the East China Parks and Recreation commission, along with being a former Boy Scout troop leader and a camping and kayaking enthusiast.
He is survived by his sons Jim (Clair), John (Terese), Mac (Lisa), Richard (Rebecca); daughters Ila Barry, Karyn (Michael) Alley and Allison (Brian) Veine; and 14 grandchildren, David, Matthew & Michael Alley, Laura, Jim Jr., Erin & Emma Barry, Ann & John Barry Jr., Madeleine Barry, Alex & Lauren Rowland, Nicholas & Thomas Veine. He is also survived by two aunts, Ann Barry and Betty Konik. He was preceded in death by his wife Gayle.
Visitation at the L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home, St. Clair Tuesday from 1-4 and 7-9 P.M. Wednesday from 10 AM till service at 11 AM from the Funeral Home. Memorials to donor''s choice
