Richard Carman's Obituary
Richard W. Carman ,84, died, Thursday, April 1, 2010. Richard was born April 28,1925
In Petersburg, Illinois to the late Roy & Jessie Carman. He was a veteran
of WW II serving in the US Army 15th Air Force as a radio operator on B17s, for 34 bombing missions. Richard attended Creighton University and graduated fro Iowa State University in 1949. He was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity and continued his military training at college receiving a commission as a Lieutenant, US Army Reserve, and became a member of the Scabbard & Blade. Dick also played one year of Semi Pro baseball with the St. Louis Cardinals. He was employed with the former Diamond Crystal Salt Company in various sales and marketing positions for 39 years and at the time of his retirement was vice-president sales and a member for the corporate executive staff.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Russell Carman of St. Clair, two sons
Michael and Mark Carman of Canton, GA., ten grand and two great grand children.
Three step-children Bryan (Tina) Black of Port Huron, David (Mary) Black of St. Clair
and Joseph (Elizabeth) Kellogg of Macomb, and eight step– grandchildren. Richard was also preceded in death by two daughters Nancy L. Page and Diane K. Mitchell.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date in Petersburg, Illinois. Arrangements by L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home. Memorials
