Rev. Walter J. Schweihofer's Obituary
Rev. Walter J. Schweihofer age 98 died Sunday November 17,2002. Father Walt was born Feb 20,
1904 in St. Clair to the late Joseph and Margareth Schweihofer. He was ordained for the Archdiocese of Detroit June 11, 1938.
Father Schweihofer served as an associate pastor for the parishes of St. David, Detroit, St Bernard Detroit, St. Raphael, Garden City; St. Gabriel, Detroit; St. Rose Detroit and St. Clement, Romeo.
He served as pastor of St. Isidore, Macomb, St. Joseph, Monroe and All Saints, Memphis until retirement June 16, 1974. During retirement Father helped at St. Mary''s, New Baltimore.
Father is survived by one Brother Fred Schweihofer and many nieces and nephews including Rev. Frederick Schweihofer, his care giver.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother Bill in, 1989, Brother Aloysius, Sisters, Mary (Mamie) Stier, Cynthia Simons, Catherine Umlauf, Lena Pauly, Margaret Distelrath and Sister Josephine Schweihofer O.P. .
Father Walt will be in state Friday at St. Mary''s Queen of Creation, New Baltimore, from 1 -9 PM with Scripture service at 7:30 PM. Saturday in state at St. Mary''s, St. Clair from 9:30
till mass at 11 AM. Burial in St. Mary''s Cemetery. Local memorials to St. Mary''s School. St. Clair or St. Vincent Depaul Society
