Rev. Karl D. Hubble's Obituary
Rev. Karl D. Hubble age 93 of St. Clair died Sunday December 11, 2005. Father Hubble was born in Port Huron, July 24, 1912 to the late William G. and Cora (Sturdevan) Hubble. He was ordained to the priest hood on June 3, 1939. Father’s first assignment was Guardian Angels Parish in Detroit, after two years he was named to the faculty of Sacred Heart Seminary, teaching Latin, Greek and religion, serving as, Dean of Students, Vice-Rector and assistant athletic director and basketball coach. In 1961 he served as Pastor to St. Mary''s of Royal Oak. He was appointed Pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Clair on July 19, 1972 and retired as Pastor on July 15, 1982. He was a member of the Fourth Degree of the K of C. serving as Chaplain for the St. Clair Council #2251. He was a former supervisor to the staff at Camp Sancta Maria, serving on the Board of Trustees for 32 years.
Father is survived by two sister’s Charlotte (the late Bernard) Teahan and Barbara (the late Edward) Ott and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by two brothers J Kenneth Hubble and William J. Hubble. Visitation Monday in the L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home,
St. Clair from 3-5 and 7-9PM with Rosary at 8:30PM. Tuesday visitation at St. Mary''s Catholic Church St. Clair from 2-9 PM with scripture service at 7:30 PM. In state Wednesday at St. Mary''s from 10 to 11 AM when Mass of the Resurrection will be said. Burial will be in St. Mary''s Cemetery. Memorials to St. Mary’s School, St. Mary''s Church or St. Vincent DePaul.
