Peter P. Andrzejewski's Obituary
Peter Paul Andrzejewski, age 89, of St. Clair, passed away February 18, 2010 with his family by his side. He was born September 15, 1920 in Hamtramck, Michigan to the late Phillip and Anna Andrzejewski.
Peter was a WWII Veteran and served in Patton’s Army as a Corporal in the supply battalion, where he managed many soldiers and the trucks that supplied the front lines. He served in five campaigns, earning him 5 Bronze Stars
He married Irene Gieraltowski on November 8, 1947. Together they were the owners and operators of Pete’s Market on Gratiot and Rattlerun for 40 years, retiring in 1988.
Peter enjoyed gardening and outdoor activities. He held his children and grandchildren close to his heart and was very supportive of furthering their education.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and thanks to Dan, Ann, Amanda, Vicki, Donna, Mel, Mattie, and Charlotte at Annie’s Nest in St. Clair for the wonderful care they provided to their father and grandfather.
Mr. Andrzejewski is survived by his children; Ted (Donna) Andrzejewski, of St. Clair and Stella (Russell) Peters, of Kalamazoo. Grandchildren; Bradley, Lindsey, Stephen, Matthew (Jennifer) McCartney, and Heather McCartney. Great-grandchildren; Aidan Drew, and Izabella McCartney, and Jacob. Sister; Virginia (Edward) Bulski.
Preceded in death by his wife; Irene, five brothers and two sisters.
Visitation inside the L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home on Friday from 6-8pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair at 10am. Additional visitation will be from 9-10am at the church on Saturday. Memorials are suggested to the wishes of the family. www.lcfandson.com
