To all my cousins,
So sorry that I can't be there today. Aunt Nettie was a very special person. All of my memories of Aunt Nettie are of her smiling and laughing. We are so lucky that we were able to spend time with her when she stayed in Florida several times. And all my grandchildren have the gift of one of Aunt Nettie's baby blankets! Savannah, at age 7, still sleeps with hers. Her legacy lives on in all of you and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She, and you, are in our prayers.

Dear Cousins, The death of a parent is very difficult to bear and I am so sorry for the loss of your dear Mom/our Aunt Nettie. Both she and Uncle Bob set the bar high raising seven children who are accomplished adults and loving siblings to each other. That is a wonderful legacy and you can take pride and comfort in that. I remember not too long ago how she treated us to Brunch at the River Crab, the day after the St. Clair Riverfest. That was a lovely morning , having good food and conversation with her and some of my cousins, with a beautiful view of the water. I also loved her Cherries Jubilee dessert, over the years! Our deepest sympathies to all my cousins Your mom was a sweet lady with a gentle laugh and the calmest demeanor. I remember happy times at the house in Warren full of good holiday celebrations and pecan pie and large rabbits. Somehow Aunt Nettie and Uncle Bob made it all seem like a happy house and the place to be. They are together again now and that gives us all comfort I will always cherish the cards she and I sent each other at Christmas keeping memories alive and staying in touch. Thoughts and prayers to all the cousins and their families. Although we didn't visit much, I remember Aunt Nettie as always polite, smiling, and accommodating, and of course, in the kitchen. As a boy she once served cherry tort. I remember how good it was, and till this day, have yet to taste one that compares. God bless, Aunt Nettie.....
