Mr Murvale L. Huston's Obituary
Murvale Luther Huston, 86, of St. Clair, passed away peacefully Friday, July 6, 2012 with his wife by his side.
He was born October 6, 1925 in Canton, Michigan to Murvale and Agnes Huston. Raised by maternal aunt and uncle, Leroy and Phyllis Scroggins, upon the early demise of his parents.
Murvale was a proud WWII Veteran of the Army Air Corps serving in Italy. He graduated from Michigan State University and taught one year at Hanover Horton before moving to St Clair High School in 1955 where he retired after 32 years of service. Murv taught agriculture and science at St. Clair and also served as golf coach. He also served as Principal of St. Clair High School from 1966 – 1973.
He is a past member of MEA, NEA, Rotary Club, Lions Club, River District Hospital Auxiliary and Pine Shores Golf Club and was a weekly volunteer for many years at St. Martin’s Soup Kitchen. Murv was an avid golfer and proud father and grandfather who loved being outdoors, especially at his northern cabin.
Murvale is survived by his wife of 58 years, Catherine Ann (Kay) Huston (Trierweiler), of Westphalia, Michigan, four daughters; Gay (Joel) Venia, Patti (Dwight) Bouck, Ann (Tom) Brennan, Lynn (Scott) Hall and 9 grandchildren; Jared Venia & Jessica (Bart) Venia- Leahy, Chris & Anna Bouck, Erin, Kelly & Shannon Brennan and Paige & Ian Hall.
Visitation Friday, from 5-9 PM in the L.C.Friederichs & Son Funeral Home A memorial mass will be held 11 AM Saturday, August 11 , from St.Mary's Catholic Church
