Michael A. Walker's Obituary
Michael A. “Mike” Walker, age 51, of St. Clair, passed away November 5, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. He was born March 25, 1968 in Detroit to Jerry and Edith Walker. Mike married Coreen Surdu in Port Huron on March 21, 1991. He worked 30 years as a CAD operator and mentor to many new employees.
Mike had a huge passion for drag racing, fixing things and working on cars. He was very active with all of his kid’s sports, along with his kid’s sports he coached football at Madison High School for 10 years, and with the St. Clair High School J.V. football team for 2 years. Mike was the off ice and conditioning coach for the Port Huron Flags. He was a big UofM fan. Mike enjoyed his summers as a kid over on Harsens Island where his family believes he got his passion for the weather and freighters, Mike knew lines to most movies better than anyone else and always had a joke to share. Most of all Mike was a very loyal and dedicated family man, and loved spending time with them.
He is survived by his wife, Coreen; children, Anthony, Alex, Kaylen and Nicholas; brothers, Todd Walker, Matt Walker, Jason (Shannon) Walker; sister Nicole (Chad Danforth) Walker; parents Jerry and Edith Walker; nephews, Aiden, Hunter; nieces, Kennedy, Savannah, Sierra; mother in law Sharon Simmons; Brother in laws, Dennis (Paula) Surdu, Keith Surdu, Kevin (Dede) Surdu; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held Friday November 8, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. at L.C. Friederichs and Son Funeral Home, St. Clair. Visitation will be Friday November 8, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
