Mary Elizabeth Jones' Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Jones, age 84, formerly of Marine City, died March 29, 2012. She was born June 30, 1927 in Sharon Hills, Pennsylvania. She married Richard Jones on December 31, 1948 in Pennsylvania. He preceded her in death in 1984. She was very active in the Holy Cross Catholic Church Choir and enjoyed voluteering at Holy Cross School. She also enjoyed volunteering as a pink lady at St. John River District Hospital.
She is survived by her children; Barbara (David) Hua, Steven Jones, Katherine (Russ) Balhoff, Thomas (Bonnie) Jones, step-daugher; Carol Tate of Texas. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by brother; George Ponton.
Services will be held at Our Lady on the River Parish, Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City on Monday April 2 at 10:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in-state at church. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. at L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home, St.Clair.
