Mrs Margaret J Hetherington's Obituary
Margaret Jean Hetherington, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at the age of 95. She was born September 5, 1917 to Harvey and Myrtle Jones in Forest, Ontario, one of nine children.
Margaret met her soulmate, Robert, when they were in grade school. A few years later, they started dating and after 6 years of courtship, married in August of 1940 in Forest, Ontario. Shortly after the wedding, the newlyweds moved over to Detroit, MI, eventually landing in St. Clair, MI, where they stayed to raise their family. Robert passed away only 3 months ago, in February of this year.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Barbara (William) Cunningham; son Gerald (Cheryl) Hetherington; grandchildren, Erick (Andrea) Hetherington, Michael (Angi) Hetherington, Shelley Bollivar, Terry Hetherington, Jeff Bollivar, Scott Hetherington, Sean (Sarah) Hetherington, Nicole Cunningham, Bill (Melissa) Cunningham, Aaron Cunningham, Jaime Cunningham; and 14 great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, parents, siblings and sons, John and Carl.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Friederichs Funeral Home in St. Clair, MI. The family will greet friends from 1 pm to 4 pm, and the service will take place at 4 pm. There will be a reception immediately following the service, at The Voyageur. Burial will occur next week at Beechwood Cemetery in Forest, Ontario.
