I have played with Kurt in many groups from the Genesee Wind Symphony, to the Clio cast & Crew shows and have enjoyed playing with Kurt. I was saddened to hear about Kirk's death. I used to play in the Emerson Junior High Band in Flint, MI with him in the late 1960's. He was a quiet boy who really enjoyed playing the baritone saxophone. My brother, Brian Moe, has played in several of the Flint area bands with Kirk. We moved back to Michigan a few years ago and I had the chance to talk with Kirk again at concerts after more than 30 years since we had played in the band at Emerson. He was a friendly person and a great musician. I will miss seeing Kirk at concerts, especially TubaChristmas.
