Kathryn Ellen Horan's Obituary
Kathryn Ellen Horan, age 87, formerly of Detroit, Harbor Beach and China Twp. passed away on October 6, 2020. She was born in Detroit to the late James and Agnes (McNally) Desmond. She graduated from St. Theresa High School and immediately began a long and rewarding career with Kelsey Hayes Company retiring after 40 years. She married Darius (Dar) Horan in 1972 and he preceded her in death in 2019.
Kathryn was the youngest of 7 children and is preceded in death by brothers Bernard (Rosemary), James (Evelyn), Vincent, Edward, Richard and sister Joan Marie(Jack) Wiltz. Kathryn and Dar’s passion was traveling the world. They especially enjoyed going on cruises, especially those to the Mediterranean. Their most memorable trip however, was when they flew to Paris on the Supersonic Concorde, traveled through out Europe and cruised home on the QEII. Kathryn will be remembered for her tremendous spirit and love of life, strengthened by a keen sense of humor, an infectious laugh and perpetual kindness toward others. Kathryn was a devout Catholic and belonged to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Clair, Michigan. Due to COVID19 a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at Holy Sepulchre Mausoleum.
