Aunt Ka was very influential in my life...from when she gave me my first cookbook in 1950 (I was 16) to the last time I saw her, sitting around a table in Austin, Texas with her sisters, laughing and telling stories about my father, Don Balfour. She taught me so much but mostly she inspired - she often said we could be anything we wanted to be. I have never forgotten that. I have never forgotten that. What courage she had!
My cookbook is falling apart, but my memories will not. She will be missed.##imported-begin##Elizabeth Balfour Martin##imported-end##
