Karen Marie Distelrath's Obituary
Karen Marie (Brown) Distelrath, 72, of St. Clair, died Wednesday, October 25, 2023 after a brief illness.
She was born February 9, 1951 in St. Clair to the late Milton and Ruby (Boursaw) Brown. She married Kenneth Distelrath on February 21, 1970 in St. Clair.
Karen grew up in St. Clair and graduated from St. Clair High School in 1969, where she met her future husband, Ken. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in February 2020 surrounded by their close family and friends. One of Karen's biggest joys in life was her beloved dog, Toby.
Karen is survived by her husband, Ken and daughter Marci Colleen (Jeff) Rissmiller. Their beloved son and brother, Kenny Distelrath, Jr. passed away in 1992.
Karen and Ken enjoyed having eight grandchildren; Travis LaParl (Sydney Major), Derrek LaParl, Kenzie (Donald) Waeghe, Zachary (Jordan) Achatz, Sydney (Chris) Morehead and Justin (Katie) Rissmiller.
Their great-grandchildren include Emma and Connor Waeghe, Lathan and Dawson Morehead, Samantha Achatz and Liam Rissmiller.
Her siblings Linda (David) Bezenah and M.James Brown predeceased Karen and she is survived by sisters; Terri (Mick) Anderson and Sharon (David) Shupe. Along with many brother and sister in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
During and after raising her children, Karen enjoyed a successful career as a Financial/Accounting Manager at various local companies in the area. She excelled in math and numbers and had an incredible memory for the ages, birth dates and anniversaries of all her family and friends. To her close friends, she was a "treasure". Her family will miss her dearly and she will remain in their hearts forever.
Private family services will be conducted and inurnment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, St. Clair.
