Joseph "Bud" Thorton's Obituary
Joseph "Bud" Thornton, 94, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
He was born in Port Huron, MI, and was a graduate of Port Huron High School & Port Huron Junior College.
He was the assistant plant manager at Auto Lite for 25 years, then was employed with Essex Wire for 9 years and finally became president of the Components Division at United Technology’s Automotive Group for 9 years.
He was a member of the Mason''s & Elks. Joe was an avid fisherman, enjoying deep-sea fishing in Gloucester, MA, the oldest sea port in the U.S.A.
Surviving are his son, Christopher Thornton of Bangor, ME; loving companion, Betty Pijut of Gloucester, MA; brothers-in-law, James Whitsitt of Port Huron, MI, and Arthur Brethen of Brooksville, FL and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille A. Thornton in 1996.
Arrangements by D.O. McComb & Sons, Lakeside Park Funeral Home.
Funeral at L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home on Saturday June 27 and burial at Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair, MI.
