Joseph Jacob's Obituary
Joseph Jacob, age 85, of St. Clair, died November 10, 2011. He was bornMay 16, 1926 in Detroit. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
On April 30, 1949, Joseph married Marta Santoni in Detroit. Joe was a graduate of Walsh College. He retired from Chrysler Missle Plant/General Dynamics. Joe was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He was a Third Degree Life Member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #2251, St. Clair. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Richmond Assembly #480, where he was also active with the Color Corp since 1967. Joe loved spending time with his large family and close friends, he also enjoyed deer hunting, golf, carving duck decoys, volunteering at the hospital and shooting the breeze over coffee at McDonald's.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Marta Jacob, children; Gary (Kim) Jacob, Corinne (Joe) Evans, Theresa (Bill) Barrons, Patricia Barnum, Richard (Christa) Jacob, Linda Stein, Daniel Jacob, Eleanor (Sam) Knapp and Joseph M. (Jennifer) Jacob, brother; George (Julie) Jacob, sister in law; Idilia Younes, brother in law; Anthony Messina, 23 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many wonderful close friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother in law; Sam Younes and sister in law; Dolores Messina.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday November 15th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clair, interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visiting hours are Monday 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at L.C. Friederichs and Son Funeral Home, St. Clair and Tuesday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to mass.
A rosary will be said Monday at 7:00 p.m.
