John M. Greenley's Obituary
John M. Greenley age 80 of St. Clair died at home, May 1st. He was born in Hillsdale , Michigan, to the late Louis Alfred Greenley and Frances Daykin. John lived in Buenos Aired, Argentina for the first five years of his life. He was a corporal in the Army, Military Police in Japan for 2 years serving his country immediately after VJ Day. He graduated from Hillsdale College in 1954 and had a career as an account executive for Standard Products Company for 35 years.
John’s passions included, building homes,wood working, golf, crewel embroidery and world travel. John and his family livid in Australia, and he and his wife Gloria logged over 300,000 miles traveling the world. His civic involvement included; St. Clair Planning Commission, Pine Shores Golf Commissioner, Beautification Commission, Facilities Committee and Mayors Task Force.
John is survived by his wife Gloria , who he was married to for almost 54 years, his son Howard (Renee) Greenley and daughter Judy (Ron) Phillips, four grandchildren, Ryan, Sierra, Lacy and Jake. He was also preceded in death by a brother Frederick Daykin
A Celebration of Life will be held at Pine Shores Golf Course, 515 Fred Moore Highway, St. Clair on Saturday May 23 from 1-5 PM. with eulogy at 1:15. Memorial contributions can be sent to Pine Shores Golf Course. Arrangements by L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home
