Mr John "Jay" Ackerman Jr.'s Obituary
John F. “Jay” Ackerman, age 78 of St. Clair died Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Jay was born March 30, 1937 in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late John and Helen Ackerman Sr.. He graduated from Wittenberg University and worked for Ford Motor until retirement. Jay married Judith Soechtig. He was a member St. Clair Country club, St.Clair Rotary Club and Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Clair. Jay loved his family.
Jay is survived by his wife Judy, son John (Amie) Ackerman III, daughter Tracy Ackerman Platz, daughter Sandra (David) Stewart, sons Christopher (Heather) Soechtig and Steven (Lori) Soechtig, 11grand children, a nephew and niece and several great nephews and nieces.
Visitation Thursday 4-8 Pm in the L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home St. Clair. In state Friday from 2PM till 3PM when services will be held in the Immanuel Lutheran church, St.Clair. Memorials in Jay’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
