Jean Marie Thorpe's Obituary
Jean Marie Thorpe East China Twp. Jean Marie Thorpe, age 76, went home to be with her Lord on March 5, 2011. She was born November 13, 1934 in Warren to the late Elmer and Myrtle Manville. On May 10, 1953 Jean Manville married Frank R. Thorpe in Warren. He preceded her in death in 2005. Jean and her husband, Frank, founded Thorpe Printing in Marysville in 1966. Jean was a member of the Eastern Star and the American Legion in Utica. She also was a volunteer for the St. Clair County American Cancer Society. She is survived by her sons; Lloyd "Loni" (Susan), Larry, Lane, Lyndon, and Lance (Stacie) Thorpe, two daughters; Lori (Tom) Dimon and Lee Ann (Claudio) Benadiva. Grandchildren; Todd, Trevor, Kristen, Heather, Kari, Shareen, Shannon, Butch, Shane, Jason, Sabelyn, Troy, Carina, Joshua, Lance II, Lindsey, Larissa, Nicholas, Nathan, Deanna, Curtis, 26 great grandchildren, sisters; Gertrude Lequier and Linda (Bill) deSenglau, sister in law; Norma Rappa, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by a son; Lyle Thorpe, sister; Opal Stewart, and sister in law; Kay Brogan. Funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at L.C. Friederichs and Son Funeral Home, St. Clair. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday 2:00 to 9:00 with an Eastern Star memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
