James Varty's Obituary
James O. Varty, age 75 of St. Clair died Tuesday, August 9, 2011.
Jim was born August 23, 1935 in Deckerville to the late John and Cleo Varty.
He married Joy Kemp on May 5, 1956 in St. Clair. Jim went to school in St. Clair
and began working in the plastic business, becoming one of the founders of Huron Plastics in St. Clair. He was a skilled wood carver and enjoyed his cabin in the northern woods, and cherished his family.
Jim is survived by his wife Joy M. Varty, daughter, Judy (Gary) Awe of Chesterfield, son James M. (Lisa) Varty of St. Clair, grand daughters April and Michelle Awe of Chesterfield, grandson Jordan Varty and grand daughter Stephanie Varty of St. Clair, great grandson Kaiden James Palin, his brother Jack (Linda) Varty
and sister Doris (the late Joseph ) Currier, and special aunt Violet Varty.
In addition to his parents, Jim was also preceded in death by his brother Clyde, and his father and mother–in-law Ray and Lucille Kemp.
Visitation 2-8 Pm Thursday in the L.C.Friederichs & Son Funeral Home, St. Clair. In state Friday at the First United Methodist Church, St. Clair from 10 AM till service at 11 AM , the Rev. Dr. Margie Crawford, officiating. Burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church or the Heart Association
