James C. O'Brien's Obituary
James C. O'Brien, age 69, of East China passed away November 24, 2013. He was born to the late James V. and Bertha O'Brien on November 23, 1944 in Port Huron, MI. Jim was a Vietnam veteran. Jim and his wife spent their winters in Harlingen, Texas . Jim was an active member with American Legion Post 439 in LaFeria, Texas where he was also a past commander. He was also a member of the Elks in WesLaco, Texas and the Eagles in Port Huron, MI. Jim was a retired plumber out of Local 98 in Detroit, MI. Jim worked in many different states with the plumbers local. Jim loved the Blue Water Area. In his younger years he had a passion for boating and fishing.
He is survived by his wife; Joyce O'Brien, daughter; Jane (Scott) Rhody, son; Jeff (Lisa) O'Brien, step-son; Brian (Holly) Tatman, sister; JoAnne (Ernie) Schroeder, cousin; Mary Ellyn (Joe) O'Neill, four grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers; Jack Westcott and Michael O'Brien.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30 at L.C. Friederichs and Son Funeral Home, St.Clair,MI. Visiting hours will be Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
