Hope M. Ruessmann's Obituary
Hope M. Ruessmann age 81 of St. Clair died Saturday, November 5, 2005. She was born October 8, 1924, in Detroit. Hope was a fine artist, a mural painter and interior decorator, she was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair, serving on the Worship Commission. Hope was able to trace her ancestry back to Jacques Campeaux with letters from Montreal to Detroit in 1756.
She is survived by, daughter Anne (Jean-Leon) Bouchenoire of Ohio and Montreal, daughter Aime (Frank) Nuar, Manassas, Virginia, son Fr. John Ruessmann, (Mary knoll Priest) of Guatemala, daughter Sr. Joseph Marie, RSM of Alma, MI., daughter Noel Ruessmann, Stroudsburg, PA., son Laurent (Anne) Ruussmann of Brussels, Belgium, daughter Chantal ( John) Porterfield of Grand Rapids, MI., her former husband Walter J. Ruessmann, 20 grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her eldest son Marc V. Ruessmann, in 2002.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will begin at 10 AM Friday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair, with a rosary. The memorial mass will be said at 11AM Friday, Rev John Ruessmann and Bohdan Kosicki officiating. Burial of ashes will be held at a later date in DeWitt, Michigan.
