Hector Hyslop's Obituary
Hector J. “Scotty” Hyslop age 90 of St. Clair passed away on Friday, April 11, 2008. He was born June 4, 1917 in Glasgow Scotland, to the late Walter Grieve Hyslop and Agnes Bilsland Dobson. Scotty went to Hillhead High School, Glasgow School of Art and West of Scotland Commercial College, affiliated with Glasgow University. He served in the RAF during WWII and while on short duty in Canada, visited New York City, where he met Frances E. Heise, hostess at the Carnegie Hall Canteen for Allied Personnel. At the conclusion of the war he returned to the United States and married Frances E. Heise at Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island.
Scotty worked for the New York Times and McGraw Hill Publishing Co., He joined the Diamond Crystal Salt Co, then a division of General Foods Corp.,.
He retired as VP of Sales and Marketing after 34 years of Service. He served on the United Fund Board, was a past President of the Local Chapter of the National Association for the Mentally Ill, a senior warden and vestry member of St. Paul''s Episcopal Church, St. Clair., and member of the St. Clair Investment Club and a Industrial Conference Board Participant.
Scotty is survived by his wife Frances, daughter Heather Senga Hyslop and son Duncan Brian Hyslop. He was preceded in death by sisters Margaret Waddell and Nancy Wylie.
Visitation Friday from 6-9 PM in the L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home.
In state Saturday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church from 10:30 till service at 11 AM
