Harry A. Highstreet's Obituary
Harry A. Highstreet, age 73, of St. Clair passed away on January 9, 2009 at Marwood Manor in Port Huron. Harry was born on June 26, 1935 in Algonac to the late Thomas and Mable Highstreet.
Harry was a 1953 graduate of Algonac High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a published author, graduating with a Masters in Journalism from the University of Missouri. Harry was a talented writer who wrote numerous novels and a children series. Throughout his journalism career, Harry was very active in the news and television media circuit.
Mr. Highstreet is survived by his children; Gwen and John Highstreet. Sister; Virginia Johnson of California; and brother, Thomas (Molly) Highstreet of Florida. Harry is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in death by his parents and sister, Eileen Springborn.
Cremation has taken place and private services have been held. The family requests that donations be made to the Algonac Post of the VFW, 1005 PTE Tremble Rd
Algonac, MI 48001. The family is being served by L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home, St. Clair.
