Gertrude Shafer's Obituary
Gertrude M. Shafer age 96 of St. Clair died Saturday, October 24, 2009. She was born in St. Clair November 4, 1912 to the late August and Rena Delore. Gert married Mathias Shafer on April 24, 1937 and he died May 26, 1964. She worked for the St. Clair Inn and St. Clair Schools. Gert was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic
Church, St. Clair, the Rosary Altar Society, St. Clair Council on Aging, and the senior bowling, she also was an avid card player.
She is survived by her son Patrick (Diane) Shafer, Daughter-in-law Betty Shafer,
grandchildren Douglas (Renee), Susan, Sarah, David (Kelly), Mark and Paul (Fiancée, Monica), great grandchildren Douglas J, Dallas, Nicholas, Mitchell, Morgan, Brennan, Peyton, Taylor, Trevor and Dakota. She was also preceded in death a son William and brothers Lawrence (Bud) Delore and Mathias (Babe) Delore.
Visitation will be in the L.C.Friederichs & Son Funeral Home, Monday from 4 PM till 9 PM, with rosary at 8:30 PM. In state Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church from 9:30 AM till mass at 10 AM. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorials to St. Mary’s Organ Fund or Cemetery Fund
