George L. Friederichs' Obituary
George L. “Bud” Friederichs Sr. age 83 of St. Clair died Wednesday April 21, 2004. Bud was born, January 29, 1921 in St. Clair to the late Lawrence & Ida Friederichs. He graduated from St. Clair High School class of 1939 and received his degree in Mortuary Science for Wayne State University and was a licensed funeral director for63 years. During WW II he served in the Army Air Corps as a B-24 Co-Pilot. Bud and the former Dorothy Anne Arnold were married Sept. 3, 1949 in Holy Cross Church. With his father, Lawrence, Bud owned and operated the Friederichs Furniture Store and L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home . He was a former St. Clair Councilman, St. Clair Volunteer Fireman, St. Clair Special Policeman and Pine Shores Golf Course Commissioner and St. Clair Lions Club Member. Bud was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the usher club, the K of C, and St. Vincent DePaul Society. Professionally he was a member of MFDA and NFDA. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Dorothy Ann, three sons, Dr. George L. (Kathy) Friederichs, Jim (Laurel) Friederichs & John “Bill” (Marge) Friederichs. A daughter Peggy (Mark) Milby. two sisters Margaret (Bernie) Kuhn and Joan (Harry) Winston. 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. Visitation at the L. C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home Thursday and Friday, 2-4 and 7-9. In state Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church from 9:30 till mass at 10 AM. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
