George E. Thomas age 93 of Englewood, Florida, formerly of St. Clair and Cedarville, Michigan died Wednesday, February 2, 2005. George was born December 6,1911 in Mt. Clemens to the late Elmer and Madeline (DeSlover) Thomas. George married Lucille Klien May 19,1934 and she died June 3, 1994 He was retired from General Motors as the supervisor of the Publication Department for Detroit Diesel Allison of Plymouth ,Michigan. George was a member St. Raphael''s Catholic Church, Englewood , Florida, the St. Vincent DePaul Society and Les Cheneaux Senior Citizens of Cedarville and the Our Lady of the Snow Catholic church, in Hessel, Michigan.
George is survived by 2 daughters, Germaine Gombert of Knoxville, TN., and Geraldine Adams
of Englewood, Florida and Cedarville, MI. Grandchildren Linda Gombert, Melisa Williams, Kathryn Sherlund, Jon Gombert and Tom Adams. Great Grand children Aaron Shjerlund, Jeremy Sherlund, Jennifer Sherlund, Trevor Adams, Quade Adams and Holley Sharpe.
Visitation Sunday at the L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home, St. Clair, MI from 1-6 PM.
In state Monday at St. Mary''s Catholic Church from 9:30 AM till mass at 10 AM. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorials to St. Vincent DePaul or Les Cheneaux
