Geatano Salveta's Obituary
Geatano “Guy” Salveta, 87 of Chesterfield formally of St. Clair died peacefully at home on June 26, 2008. Mr. Salveta was born on April 24, 1921 in Detroit, MI.
Mr. Salveta was a WWII Army Veteran that traveled the world during his time of service. Mr. Salveta married Virginia Marzicola on April 30, 1955 in Ferndale, MI. Mr Salveta was a member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion. Mr. Salveta was a big fan of John Wayne and was commonly quoted saying “there is no one like him.”
Mr. Salveta is survived by his daughters Gina (David) Duzynski, and JoAnne (Richard) Pooler. Sons Bill (Sharon) Salveta, and Guy (Donna) Salveta. Also survived by brother John (Irene) Salveta and sisters Elenor and Sarah. Loving Grandfather of 9, great-grandfather of 24, and great-great-granfather of 1.
Predeceased in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Virginia. Brother Leo and sisters Mary, Mazy, Minnie, Sue and Michealena.
Visitation Sunday at the L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home in St. Clair, from 2pm until time of funeral services at 7:30pm. Inurnment will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI at a later date. Memorials are requested to Hospice of Michigan or the donor’s choice.
