Many, many years ago I knew Fred when I was a close friend of his sister, Linda. My mother's family was from Marine City and the Arnold family lived there at the time. Even though young, I was impressed with Fred's intellectual ability. Therefore, although not surprised, I was delighted to read of his exceptional career and productive life.
I offer my deep condolence to his family and friends, especially to his sister, Julie, whom I also knew all those years ago. Dona eis pacem.

Very saddened to hear of Fred's passing. He was a brilliant man who was a wealth of knowledge in all things, particularly in the area of electronics and all things electrical or mechanical electrical. I was a foreman for an electrical contractor who did a lot of work at Consumer's Power gas plant in Marysville where Fred was Supervisor over the Electronics Technical Department as well as the Electrical Department. Fred was wonderful to work for and he provided us with years of work at the plant. I learned a lot from that man, a true gentleman. May God bless you Fred and grant you eternal peace.

Fred encouraged me to pursue my career in electronics, he and Shirley where supportive to Diana and I and encouraged us to grow as young teens. It is with fond memories that I look back and remember the " Marysville Technician" his CB handle at the time. He will always have a place in my heart. My prayers are with Diana and her family at this time.

My condolences to Fred's family and friends. I will always remember Fred for his quiet and constant helpfulness around the Historical Museum, devoting much of his time behind the scenes to construction and paperwork projects. He was a veteran problem solver, even to the point of relocating electrical outlets with the power still on, and doing it safely.
