Frances Ella Martin's Obituary
Frances “Fran” Ella Martin Born July 2, 1910 left this world December 17, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents George W and Ella May (Higgins) Martin, bothers William “Bill” Martin, George L Martin, sisters Mary Ester Isabelle “Belle” Engelgau, and Aileen Catherine Martin and a close cousin Colonel William “Bill” Higgins.
Fran is survived by an niece; Gail (Raymond) Kanipe; nephews Dr. George L (Debby) Martin, Jr, and Ronald R (Michelle) Martin and Irwin (Harriet) Engelgau ; Godchild and great niece, Amy Kanipe; great nieces Heather (Matthew) Hall, and Shana (Peter) Verstegen and great nephew Wesley L (Alicia)Martin and great-great nephew, Roland Martin, Hunter Hall, Greyson Verstegen and great-great niece Emalene Hall.
Fran graduated from Saint Clair High School and worked as an executive secretary for several major companies during her career. She was a lifelong member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in St Clair Michigan.
Fran was known for her sense of humor and generosity. Fran was an amazing cook and hostess. She was a caregiver to her parents, sister and brothers in their time of need.
A Mass will be held at 11am Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Saint Clair, Michigan with Father Mike Zuelch officiating. Internment follows the Mass at Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
