Frances J. Armstrong's Obituary
Frances J. Armstrong, age 81, of Marine City, passed away on June 13, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 17, 1934 to the late Fred and Marie Merrill. She married Frank Armstrong on June 30, 1951 in Marine City. She was a very passionate quilter and donated thousands of baby quilts for those in need.
She enjoyed gardening, canning, and baking but most of all raising her children and caring for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband; Frank Armstrong, children; Lori (Ed) Lumley, Sheri (Larry) Mitti, Frank, Jr. (Julie) Armstrong, Jeff Armstrong, Connie (Bob) Bieth, Patty (Michael) Smith, and Karyn (Johann II) Franz.
She is also survived by her 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, brother; George (Karen) Merrill, sister; Gert Lozon and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter in-law; Michelle Armstrong and sister; Dolly DeCou.
Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 16 at L.C. Friederichs and Son Funeral Home, St. Clair. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to the service. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Private interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, Clay Twp.
