Elsie O. Pawlosky's Obituary
Elsie O. Pawlosky, 86, of Port Huron died Friday, April 5 at The Manor Adult Foster Care Home after a short illness.
She was born to August E. and Ida (Schneider) Bredow on August 22, 1915 in Meade Township, Huron County, Mi.
She married Edward B. Pawlosky on February 25, 1941 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bad Axe, Mi. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1986.
With her husband, they owned and operated grocery stores in Bad Axe, Ubly, Minden City and the St Clair Supermarket, St Clair. In 1960 they opened Gambles Hardware Store in St Clair and operated until retirement in 1968.
Elsie was a fifty-year member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was also a member of the Rosary Alter Society, and a choir member at both St Christopher’s Catholic Church, Marysville, and Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children, Paul (Deborah) Pawlosky, Otisville, Mi, Richard (Terri) Pawlosky, North Webster, In, and Mary (Leonard) Brown, St Clair. Grandchildren, Anne Marie (Philip) Bubin, Fenton, Mi; Joseph (Amy) Pawlosky, Elkhart, In; Patricia Garland, Chicago, Il; Susan Pawlosky, Fort Wayne, In; Lisa (Michael) Motte, Marysville; and Beth (Thomas) Shimkus, Bethlehem, Pa. Also survived by four great-grandchildren, Anastasia Bubin, Miranda Bubin, Elyse Motte, and William Richard Motte. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Henrietta “Nettie” Bredow, Mt Clemens; Blanche Pawlosky, Bad Axe, and Marie Edwards, Flushing, Mi, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by sisters Mina Rice, Edna Elliott, Martha Sams and Bertha Pfile, brothers William, Edward and Carl, and daughter-in-laws Dianne (Sadlowski) Pawlosky and Rosalee (Bradley) Pawlosky.
Visitation Monday from L.c. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home, St. Clair from 2-4 and 6-8 PM with rosary at 8 PM
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 9 at 11 AM in St Mary’s Catholic Church, St Clair. The Rev Ronald Victor will officiate.
Burial will be at Marysville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St Mary’s Building Fund, or Blue Water Hospice.
