Ella Mae Strickler's Obituary
Ella Mae Strickler died peacefully on May 12, 2011. She was born in St. Clair on May 23, 1921, one of six children born to Fred and Cecelia Tebeau. Ella Mae graduated from St. Clair High School in 1939 and worked at Diamond Crystal Salt Company prior to her marriage to James F. Strickler on January 25,1947. Jim died on February 9, 2000. Jim and Ella Mae made their home in St. Clair where they raised their 5 sons. Ella Mae was blessed to live in her home until the time of her death.
Ella Mae is survived by her 5 sons, Jim (Michelle), Lee (Susan), Tom, Don (Jean Ann) and Greg (Jodi). Ella Mae's grandchildren are Tara (William ) Randall , Jami (Scott) Alexander and Ann, Lindsay, Kate and Ryan Strickler, they all had a special place in her heart.
Ella Mae is also survived by several nieces and nephews and was very close to her nieces Barbara French, Catherine Landon, Carol Borne and Mary Ann Arnold who along with Ella Mae and her cousin Norma Thompson were known affectionately as the "Tebeau Women"
Cremation has taken place and the family will receive friends Saturday, May 21,
from 11AM till 12 noon in the L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home. Donations are suggested to the Friends of St. Mary’s School, C/O The Community Foundation of St. Clair County.
