Earl "Bud" Sayers' Obituary
Earl “Bud” Sayers, age 94, of East China, went to be with the lord March 14, 2023. He was born July 22, 1928 in St. Clair to the late Earl and Genevieve Sayers. Bud married Marie Smith on June 12, 1948 and she preceded him in death on June 3, 2010. Bud was very proud of his service at the end of WWII as one of the last groups of Army Air Corps.
Bud was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing slots at the casino, playing cards. He bowled many years on the men’s and women’s league at St. Clair River Lanes. Bud loved to travel with Marie to Hawaii and spend their winter months down in Florida and hosting BBQs in his backyard. Most of all Bud loved the time he got to spend with his family especially his grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and his two special angels, Payton and Harper.
He is survived by his children, Peggy Simons, Diane Emig, Lorrie Schigur, Dave (Lorrie) Sayers, James Sayers, Tami Loxton, Patti Barton, Sharon (Erich) Eckelbarger, Nancy Pickett and Steve Sayers; 21 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren; brother Harold Sayers, along with several nieces and nephews.
Bud is preceded in death by his daughter, Bonnie Hamilton; sons, Kenneth Sayers, Harold “Punky” Sayers; son in laws, Gary Simons, Norv Emig; grandsons, Norvall Emig Jr., Lonnie Schigur, Cody Shovan; sisters, Deloris Barks, Cheryl Posey; brother, Ken Sayers.
A graveside service will be held April 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Rosehill Cemetery, East China. Memorials may be made to the Veterans of Michigan or Hospice of Michigan. To leave a message of comfort visit www.lcfandson.com
