Dorothy M. LaFrance's Obituary
Dorothy M. LaFrance, age 89, of St. Clair passed away July 16, 2017. She was born August 2nd, 1927 in Detroit to the late James and Martha Prince. Dorothy attended Marine City schools and was a resident of St. Clair for over 70 years. She married the late Sidney “Kenny” LaFrance on January 26th, 1946. She was very involved in her church at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Dorothy was also involved in her Charles Schoor VFW post 796 auxiliary. She was a big part of the Council on Aging senior meals. Dorothy was an avid bowler for many years, and loved to play cards with the St. Clair seniors.
She is survived by her children Sandra Wilson, Karen LaFrance-Ball, and Sidney Jr. (Connie) LaFrance; Grandchildren, Kristen (John) Allen, Kerry (Bob) Cowen, Melissa Richardson, Michele Awana, Kim (Bob) Green, Loriann Kleist, Brian (Tera) LaFrance, Kurt (Leah) LaFrance, 16 great grandchildren, and 8 great, great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her sisters Patricia Johns, and Jeanette Porter; Brothers James and Leo Prince; Son-in- Laws Dan Wilson, and Buddy Ball; and great granddaughter Grace LaFrance.
Funeral Service will be Friday July 21st at 10:00 AM at L.C. Friederichs and Son Funeral Home, St. Clair. Visiting hours will be Wednesday July 19th 5:00-8:00 PM, and Thursday July 20th 2:00-8:00 PM .Memorials may be made out to Charles Schoor VFW post 796 auxiliary.
