Dorothy Ann Fouchey's Obituary
Dorothy Ann Fouchey (Nee Riss), age 97, of St. Clair formerly of Detroit passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 30, 2021. She was born in Detroit on October 9, 1923 to the late Anthony and Clara Riss. Dorothy married Tom Fouchey on October 20, 1948 and he preceded her in death on March 5, 1972.
Dorothy was a graduate of Commerce High School class of 1941 in Detroit. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University, upon her graduation from Wayne State she became the Director of Communications for St. John Hospital and after 19 years she retired in 1990. Dorothy enjoyed politics and loved reading Mysteries and Detective novels. But most of all she loved the time she spent with her family and her 6 grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Joseph (Lori) Fouchey, Robert (Susan) Fouchey; grandchildren, Geoffrey, Alexander, Margaret, Benjamin, Andy; grand daughter in law, Alexandra; brother, Gerard “Bob” Riss along with several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her daughter, Terri (William) Woodard-Fouchey; grandson Matthew Woodard.
