Doris L. LaBelle's Obituary
Doris L. LaBelle, went home to be with her Lord, on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 after a long courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was born on February 14, 1929 in Fremont, Michigan to the late Charles W. and Mildred Mae Carson. She was a wonderful and compassionate mother of six children, loved and cherished by her 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was welcomed into heaven with open arms by her husband of 57 years, Edward J. LaBelle, her parents, Charles and Mildred Carson, a brother, several sisters and brother-in-laws. Meeting her for the first time in heaven is her grandson, Jeremiah Mumford and a great-grandson, Ethan Mehlberg.
Left to mourn her passing are her daughters and son-in-laws, Cheri (Ronald) Mumford; Deborah (Richard) Mehlberg; and Denise (Craig) Sickles; daughter, DeAnn Kindsvater; sons and daughter-in-laws, Edward J. (Kimberly) LaBelle, Jr.; Steven V. (Joanne) LaBelle; brother and sister-in-law, Charles (Phyllis) Carson; sister, Kathryn St. Amour; many special friends, and several nieces and nephews. Left to miss her “pats & hugs” is her beloved four-legged companion “Peachy”
Doris was a very creative person who enjoyed crocheting and quilting. She was a wonderful cook and mentor to her children, inspiring them to be loving, compassionate wives/husbands, and mothers/fathers. The traditions she created for our family will not only be in our memories, but will be carried on in our daily lives and passed down to many generations to come. Her wonderful sense of humor and quick wit will be greatly missed. We thank the Lord for allowing her to touch our lives for so many years and look forward to our reunion in HEAVEN!
Visitation is 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at L.C. Friederichs & Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 1st at Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she was a member for many years. The Reverend Alan Schwieger will officiate with burial at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Matthew Mehlberg; Joshua Mehlberg; Gabriel Mehlberg; Edward J. LaBelle, III., Brandon LaBelle and Jordan Kindsvater.
