David R. Schuman's Obituary
David R. Schuman, age 76, of St. Clair, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at home following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 3, 1928 in St. Clair, to the late John and Amelia Schuman. He resided in the Blue Water area for all of his life. He and Catherine Weslynn Ward were united in marriage on June 21, 1952 in St. Clair. David worked at the St. Clair Rubber Company for 34 years, however, he retired from Evans-St. Clair. He and his wife also owned and operated the Dairy Isle in Marysville, MI for approximately seven years during the 60''s. David was a member of Immanual Lutheran Church where he faithfully ushered for many years prior to his illness. He was an avid bowler and a sports enthusiast. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Catherine Weslynn Schuman of St. Clair. Daughter, Lynn Stephan of St. Clair. Beloved grandaughter, Nikki Stephan of St. Clair. Two sisters, Elsie (Thorton) Christy and Ruth (Merle) Schmidt, both of St. Clair. Two sisters-in law, Sharon Langolf of Port Huron and Beverly Schuman of St. Clair along with a host of wonderful relatives and friends. He especially appreciated the devoted friendship and kindness of Norbert "Strez" and Matha Strzelecki of Richmond. Robert and Barbara Netter of St. Clair and Norman Saunders of Smiths Creek. He also loved his two cats, Devon and Tucker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Irvin Schuman. Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will be held in the spring. Family and close friends will be notified of details when applicable. Memorial contributions are appreciated to either the St. Clair County Humane Society or the Blue Water Hospice. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Blue Water Hospice. Arrangements by L.C.
